Barcelona and Manchester United finish the groups undefeated
The UEFA Champions league is in full swing with half of the groups already settled after some breathtaking games that took place this week.
Manchester United finished its third game with a bit of a scare. The team was known for being a bit cold at the beginning of the game and despite Sir Alex Ferguson telling the players to be more active during the first minutes, Braga was quick to put one on the scoreboard two minutes into the game when Alan made the most out of Hugo Viana’s cross. Alan came back on minute 20 for another goal with the help of Eder who out-played Michael Carrick in defense to supply the perfect ball. At this point, it was looking like Braga will be the first Portuguese team to snatch a win on Old Trafford Stadium. However, this didn’t last long and Javier Hernandez gave Manchester some hope with the first goal. Johny Evans followed to make it even and Tom Cleverley had the honors to score the winning goal in minute 75. This means that Man United finished the group in first place with three wins and 9 points.
Galatasaray managed to get their first point of the group against CFR Cluj after a 1-1 game. CFR Cluj finished second in Group H and will advance to the next stage.
Celtic played an amazing game against Barcelona but was unable to claim a point on Camp Nou. The game started as expected, with Barcelona attacking the Celtic gate with unstoppable strength but they just didn’t seem to find the needed opening. On minute 18, the whole crowd was put to silence when Javier Mascherano deviated the ball into his own net giving Celtic the lead. The score remained the same until close to the first quarter when Barcelona brought the magic with some fast passes that lead to Andres Iniesta scoring the equalizer. As the crowd was ready to go, Jordi Alba shot a close range goal in minute 94 to deny Celtic a point. Barcelona finished first with 9 points and Celtic second with 4.

Chelsea finished second after losing a game against Shakhtar Donetsk with 2-1. It was the first game with John Terry as captain after the four matches he was banned for racially abusing another player. The game started very bad for Chelsea as Shakhtar scored the first goal in 3 minutes. Eden Hazard made the score 2-0 in minute 52 quickly followed by Fernandinho who lowered the difference to 2-1.
