Announcement of Full Tilt Poker License Hearing
The famous AGCC or the Alderney Gambling Control Commission has recently announced the license hearing schedule for Full Tilt Poker. It was suspended and is now attempting to purse “commercial negotiations” in order to apply for re-licensing. The new date of hearing for Full Tilt Poker will be on September 19, 2011 which is four days later than the original date planned by the AGCC.
Apart from the rescheduled date, there was also a change of venue from the previous hearing. It will now be held at the Riverbank Park Plaza Hotel located on the Albert Embankment in order to allow more interested representatives to take part to. The said hearing will be open for the public and will commence at 9:00 o’clock in the morning thus it enables people to attend if and when they have the time.
The suspension of Full Tilt Poker’s license on June 29, 2011 was followed by original hearing. The reason for the hearing was to let the company’s representatives to explain themselves in the light of the incident that happened to the FBI or Federal Bureau of Investigations. The incident indicted 11 persons including others who are connected to the company facing the case of bank fraud, money laundering and illegal gambling violations. All of these allegations have resulted to the suspension of the license of Full Tilt Poker.
After the Black Friday incident, the AGCC insisted that Full Tilt Poker can continue to operate provided that they will ring-fence and protect the players’ funds, which the company has failed to meet. This is the primary reason for the suspension of their worldwide AGCC operating license almost three months ago in June. Following this suspension, Todd Terry and three other ex-Full Tilt Poker players have filed a lawsuit against the company under the RICO legislation or the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations.
This lawsuit has instigated further lawsuits from Canadian players including Zayn Jetha and Donald Whelan who claimed that the company owed them money. As the investigation and upcoming hearing comes close, many people ask whether the Full Tilt Poker Company has a chance of re-licensing. Yet, in the light of what is happening today, they might not have this chance to grab at all. They owe too much money and they are facing several lawsuits at one time which have placed them under. Whatever hopes they have going so far are dimmed away from them.
