The beginningof the Freeroll Challenge – Part 2
the freeroll challenge 11 august
August 11, 2008
Havent blogged for a few days, been busy with my new site pkrpoker but i have played a little.
At absolute i have lost more than i like the last few days, and im now down to $3.89
I have also played a 1$ tour at pokerstars that i dident cash in.
At pokerstars im playing the $1 buyin $2100 added tournament today.
players: 1403
starting chips: 1500
10 minute levels
buyin: $1
Total prizepool: $3362.70
The tournament starts off good with aces taking down a small pot. And not long after that i flop the nut flush with a-q suited and double up.
Next hand comes up after 30 min when i get j-8 suited on the button and limp in. Flop comes 9-7-5 and i call 150 and catch the 10 on the turn. With a bet and a raise before its my turn to act im in pretty good shape, and get all in action from one of the players. He shows a-8 and i win the pot and increase my stack to 4500.
Short after i take down another small pot agains an all in short stack. My a-k was better than q-9, and im at 5300.
With 10 minute blinds its a fast game and as we go on break i have taken down a few smaller pots and got 7500 in chips. Average stack is 5046, and there are 417 players left. We now start with blinds being 300-150.
The blinds go up so fast and the players are going crazy, alot of all in pots preflop that makes it tough to take down small pots. I try and pick my spot as my stack decreases and when im down to 3200, with blinds being 600-300 i look at AA and push. I dont get any action though, and only pick up the blinds and antes.
Im now in the money but very short stacked so i push with k-7 with 3000 left and blinds being 1200-600. I get one caller that shows a-7 so im in pretty bad shape, but lady luck smiles my way and i hit the king.
I now got 8200 but im still under preasure so 9-9 seems like a good hand to push with, but i get called by q-q and the best hand wins. I finish as number 142 and win $5.71
Very nice getting in the money at stars, but im hungry for a final table.
absolute poker: $3.89
pokerstars: $9.21
total bankroll: $13.10

the freeroll challenge the 16th july
July 16, 2008
I havent played much the last few days, only a few nordic freerolls at pokerstars that i havent cashed in. I have been finishing the new design at pkrplayer and it has now been uploaded. Beginner poker startegy articles can be found there and if you are new to the game i recommend that you check them out.
Im giving the nordic freeroll a go again today.
I start of bad when i get in a pot with 9-9 and the flop comes 3-5-8 its checked to me in late possition so i bet and get one caller. Turn is a 5 which dosent look scary so i bet again and get called. River brings an ace and its checked to me, so i check and he shows 8-8 giving him a full house. Bad play on hes side, if he had pushed on the turned i would have been commited, but i survived with 800 in chips. With 8-8 again and a raise from the button i go all in a take it down preflop. I then double up quickly with a-q against k-7 that gives me some more ammo, and im at 2100 in chips.
I then get q-q and the pot has been raised so i reraise. Flop comes 3-4-8 and i bet pot. The preflop raiser moves all in and i call, and when he shows k-4 i can only smile. Now im at 4000.
I then take a chance with 9-10s in a raised pot where im the button. The flop gives me a 4 flush so when 500 is the bet i move my stack hoping to take it down. I get a call though, but i hit my flush on the river and get up to 7900 in chips.
Them its my time to get a beat with q-10 in bb flop comes 8-q-k and a minimum bid is made which i call. Turn brings a queen giving me trips and we are all in, but when he shows a-q i loose 3000 and go down to 5000.
I now sit tight untill the first break and i have 3850 chips, average stack is 6420, and 1704 players are left.
Blinds are now 300-150 and antes. Im down to 2000 after seeing a few flops with no luck, so with 2-2 in small blind and only the button in who raises i think for a bit a decide i may have a good coinflip here. I push my stack, but now the big blind reraises and the button calls. Im sure im out here when i dont hit anything but amazingly my hand holds up and i win the 6600 pot.
Blinds go up quickly and my stack quickly decreases as im not getting any playable cards. As im down to 2000 i gotta play and the hand i push with is a-k suited in big blind and get 2 callers. Flop brings a king that holds up and im back to 6600.
Blinds go up again an we are now at 800-400 when i get the cowboys (k-k) there is one limber so i raise it a get 2 calls from players with 40k stacks. Small cards on the flop and i get one caller to my all in, he shows a-q and i get up to 12.000 in chips.
We are getting close to the money which is pretty important so im not gonna do anything unless its a very pretty hand.
We quickly get in the money and blinds are raised. My 9-9 looks good when i have less than 10 big blinds left but agains a-k and j-j im behind and dont get lucky. Im out finishing 346 winning 2$, but its just nice to get in the money again.

the freeroll challenge 11 august
August 11, 2008
Havent played on my freeroll account the last 2 weeks or something like that. There has just been to much going on. My son starting in day care 2 weddings to attend etc. so this update is actually old. Its from my last session 2 weeks back where i had another great run and made 15.50$ on a 0.01-0.02 pl omaha table at pokerstars.
absolute poker: $6.09
pokerstars: $64.39
total bankroll: $70.48
finally i found time to play
August 30, 2008
I finally got a little spare time for the freeroll challenge yesterday.
I had the 6.09$ at absolute, so i decided to work on that account at a low limit pl omaha h/l table. I was still doing webdesigning so the table was just running in the background, and i was keeping a tight aggressive playing style. It worked out fine as i manage to increase the bankroll to 18.04$. I was at 24$ at one point, but dropped a little in the end. Anyway it was a pretty nice session with 12$ plus, so im satisfied with that. I will try and get it up to 50$ so i can make a withdraw and get my bankrolls together at one site.
absolute poker: $18.04
pokerstars: $64.39
total bankroll: $82.53
more time to play
August 31, 2008
I got time to play again yesterday and found a 0.02-0.05 pl omaha h/l table at pokerstars.
I sat down with 4$ and just keept it tight aggressive like yesterday while i was working again. In the few hours i played i increased the bankroll from 64.39$ to 86.45$.
I also played in a freeroll tournament, but finished just before the money.
By reaching the 100$ mark it means that i now can start at a cashgame table with 5$ and play 2$ tournaments.
absolute poker: $18.04
pokerstars: $86.45
total bankroll: $104.49
3rd good session in a row
September 2, 2008
Played at pokerstars again at a 0.02-0.05 pl omaha h/l table.
Again the table was just running in the back ground, because i have been very busy with getting online poker league finished.
I went from 86.45$ to 107.62$ so that was pretty good. That means that i have made 43$ in 3 days playing the micro limits!
absolute poker: $18.04
pokerstars: $107.62
total bankroll: $125.53
final table
September 14, 2008
A quick update.
I took 2nd place in a 1$ rebuy at absolute poker last weekend. I was down to 3.10$ and gave that rebuy a shot which turned out to be a great idea. My roll at AP increased to 50.60$ and that was just enough to make a withdraw.
I have also withdrawn my roll at stars, so now im thinking about where to play at now.
total bankroll: $158.22
I feel bad that i havent spend more time on this freeroll project, but there is only 24 hours in a day.
That is going to change now, starting right now.
The bankroll of 158$ has been moved to aced poker (u.s friendly) and I have seated myself at a pl omaha h/l 0.10-0.25$ table with 7$
The first interesting hand comes after 20 minutes of play, A-K(s)-2-6. I hve 5,5$ left and a player in middle possition makes a pot raise. I then reraise pot, and another player goes all in with around 10$
First raiser calls and shows A-A-2-8 one suit and the all in player shows q-j-2-3
Im behind on the high hand, but luck is on my side.
Flop 10h-9c-6s turn jd and river 6c and im up to 15.17$
I play for an hour more, but nothing really happens and i stop at 18.37 with +11.37$
total bankroll 169.59$
That was a summary of how the freeroll challenge started.
Its been almost 1,5 year, so its time to get going again.
